<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver that can set local information in a convenient manner. <P>SOLUTION: The control section 102 of a DVR 100 transmits an acquisition request of local information to a TV 200 and when a response to that acquisition request is received from the TV 200, the control section 102 extracts the local information from the received response and presets a channel by using the extracted local information.
