<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform adaptive control of an image output terminal based on complicatedness of a document and printer throughput. <P>SOLUTION: This system 100 includes a digital front end 110 and the image output terminal 120. The image output terminal becomes any of a power saving mode. A rest mode and a print mode during operation. The digital front end includes an output queue 140 which queues a print job to the image output terminal and a queue monitoring module 150. The queue monitoring module monitors output queue to determine predicted queue length of the output queue. Then, the queue monitoring module is constituted so as to compare predetermined queue length with the predicted queue length and to change modes of the image output terminal based on the predicted queue length longer than the predetermined queue length. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
