<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus that properly determines whether or not it is necessary to recover from a power-saving state. <P>SOLUTION: If during the period of a power-saving mode an EC/KBC 119 detects that a timer 140 has counted a predetermined date and time or that AutoSync buttons 16, 17 are pressed, it checks to see if the apparatus is in a state in which requirements corresponding to tasks to be performed at that timing, such as the remaining capacity of a battery 121 and free space in an HDD 116, are met. If the apparatus is in the state in which the requirements are met, the EC/KBC 119 implements an AutoSync process whereby the apparatus is restored from the power-saving mode and the tasks are performed, after which the apparatus returns to the power-saving mode. If the apparatus is not in the state in which the requirements are met, the EC/KBC 119 maintains the power-saving mode and cancels the tasks. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
