PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission device speed change of which is carried out by first and second speed change clutches to which power of an engine is transmitted, excellent in transmitting efficiency of the power, excellent in durability, low in cost and capable of mitigating shock in starting. SOLUTION: A transmission M of this power transmission device for a vehicle is furnished with first and second speed change parts to change speed of power of the internal combustion engine, the first speed change clutch 41 to transmit power to the first speed change part or to cut it out and the second speed change clutch 42 to transmit power to the second speed change part or to cut it out. A starting clutch to transmit or cut out power to the first and second speed change clutches 41, 42 is constituted of a centrifugal type clutch C furnished with a clutch shoe 23.
