PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic reciprocating tool, performing smooth reciprocation even if lateral load is applied to a tool held at the tip. SOLUTION: This pneumatic reciprocating tool includes: a fixed shaft extending forward from the rear end of a housing in the housing 12; a first cylindrical piston 18 slidably along the fixed shaft; a second piston 20 provided at the forward end of the first piston; a tool holding member 22 driven and connected to the piston; and a compressed air supply passage passed through the fixed shaft to supply the compressed air between the first and second pistons. Further, the first piston 18 includes: a first cylindrical member 18a having the inner peripheral surface slidably engaged with the outer peripheral surface of the fixed shaft; a second cylindrical member 18b aligned with the first cylindrical member in the axial direction and slidably engaged with the second piston; and an O-ring set between the first and second cylindrical members to thereby sealing between them.
