PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wind direction plate protective device capable of preventing damage or the like of a wind direction plate even in a situation wherein a user erroneously places a hand from above on a blow-out opening provided on a top face of a casing, or when some kind of external force is applied, and to provide an air conditioner provided with the wind direction plate protective device. SOLUTION: Above an ozone deodorization part, air communication passages 26 are formed by a plurality of bars on a rim part, facing the blow-out opening 6. A guard body 24 with an integrally erected support 27 formed with a substantially triangular shaped cross section is detachably provided on a base part 25 in the center. By this, when the user carelessly places a hand, or something falls onto a first louver 7 and a second louver 8 provided on the blow-out opening 6, the support 27 supports the deflected louvers from below.
