PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower vibrations and to lower noise by smoothing the slide of the rod of an elastic body to the movement of an outer tub. SOLUTION: The washing machine comprises the outer tub 33 supported by the elastic body 32 provided on the bottom part of a washing machine outer frame 30, a washing and spin-drying tub 34 rotatably provided inside the outer tub 33, and a drive means 35 for rotating the washing and spin-drying tub 34. The elastic body 32 comprises a cylinder 41, the rod 43 arranged inside the cylinder 41 and provided with a piston 42 moved back and forth, and bearings 41a and 41b for supporting the rod 43 at both end parts of the cylinder 41. Even when the outer tub 33 is vertically moved while being shaken to the front, back, left and right depending on the localized state of clothes, the rod 43 is supported by the two bearings 41a and 41b.
