PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a revolutionary weeding apparatus with which weeds are selectively removed from a mud surface without preventing growth of crops. SOLUTION: The weeding apparatus has a constitution that a travel body 1 traveling on the mud surface 7 is equipped with a weeding body 2 which is pulled, traveling and furnished with a mud surface scratching means A in which the lower ends of a plurality of linear bodies 3 are sunk in mud 7 and the sinking depth L of each linear body 3 is set in fixed depth L which reaches the root of a weed (a) growing in the mud surface 7 but does not reach the root of a crop b and a weed catching means B in which the lower end sides of a plurality of linear bodies 5 are brought into contact with the mud surface 7, equipped with lower end side catching projection parts 5a of the linear bodies 5, the catching projection parts 5a of the linear bodies 5 catch a weed (a) growing in the mud surface 7, remove it from the mud surface 7 and are set in proper flexibility so that when the catching projection parts 5a are brought into contact with a crop b growing in the mud surface 7, the linear bodies 5 are bent by the contact pressure with the crop b, the catching parts 5a are rotated right and left relatively to the crop b and do not remove the crop b from the mud surface 7.
