A magnetron drive power supply that can be halted at a low cost with extreme safety against the sparks of a high voltage part or against external factors such as a lightning surge. A drive circuit (3) has a voltage determining means that determines a differential value of a voltage as rectified by a one-way power supply part (1). It is arranged that an inverter be halted when an output of the voltage determining means exceeds a comparison level (601) of the control means of an inverter circuit part (9). This arrangement can prevent any withstand-voltage breakdown that would otherwise occur due to a rise in the voltage generated at a switching element (202), thereby halting the inverter with safety.
