An electric skateboard (10) comprises a deck (12), and a front wheel (14) having a front wheel diameter. A deck height is defined by the distance between the bottom side of the deck and the ground. The front wheel diameter is greater than the deck height. One or more motors (26) is operable to drive the front wheel. A control module (46) is in communication with the one or more motors, and is operable to effect acceleration and deceleration of the one or more motors. A rechargeable battery pack (44) is configured to provide power to the one or more motors. A controller (150,160) is in wireless communication with the control module. The controller is configured to receive user input and to transmit the user input to the control module.
