<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of flexibly coping with individual user's desire about operation as an entire apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A subsystem 150 being an image forming part obtained by combining functional units constituting an image forming apparatus body, that is, an image forming unit comprising a photoreceptor drum/an ITB/a developing unit or the like and a fixing unit or the like, and a platform 60 being a sheet conveying part for supplying/conveying a sheet on which an image is formed are replaced, respectively. Since the subsystem and the platform are replaced, respectively, each of the units has inherent information related to the performance, and decides the operation specification of the entire image forming apparatus according to the combination of those units. The image forming apparatus comprising the platform and the subsystem has performance information, calculates the possible operation specification from two pieces of performance information and decides the specification of the image forming apparatus itself. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
