<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic composition for varistor capable of lowering varistor voltage with reduced electrostatic capacity and attaining excellent electrostatic discharge (ESD) resistance and a laminated varistor. <P>SOLUTION: The ceramic composition for varistor consists essentially of zinc oxide and comprises at least praseodymium and an rare earth element except praseodymium as first subcomponents by 0.5-10.0 atom% in total of the first subcomponents expressed in terms of each atom per 100 atom% in total of the metal elements, cobalt by 3.0-10.0 atom% expressed in terms of Co atom as a second subcomponent, aluminum by 0.001-0.005 atom% expressed in terms of Al atom as a third subcomponent, at least one kind of alkali metal element by 0.01-1.0 atom% expressed in terms of each atom as a fourth subcomponent, zirconium by 0.005-0.5 atom% expressed in terms of Zr atom as fifth subcomponent and calcium and/or magnesium by 5.0-30.0 atom% expressed in terms of each atom as sixth subcomponents. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
