ALGINIC ACID DERIVATIVES, POLYACRYLIC ACID DERIVATIVES, AND PRODUCTION METHODS THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide alginic acid derivatives and polyacrylic acid derivatives to which cyclic tetrasaccharides are bonded, as novel polymers having biocompatibility and capable of being used as medical materials, cosmetics additives, foods additives or hygienic materials; as well as production methods thereof.

SOLUTION: This alginic acid derivative or polyacrylic acid derivative to which cyclic tetrasaccharides are bonded is produced by reacting a quaternary ammonium salt of alginic acid or polyacrylic acid with monotosylated cyclic tetrasaccharides cycloä→6)-α-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→3)-α-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-α-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→3)-α-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→} or monoiodide cyclic tetrasaccharides.
