<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive manufacturing method of a transmissive photo interruptor with high yield which is not easily subject to the influence caused by the ambient light and excellent in detecting accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: A light-emitting element sealing unit and a light-receiving sealing unit are prepared, and these sealing units are arranged in a form block so that a light-receiving unit may be optically connected with a light-emitting element. The horizontal directional position of each sealing unit is determined by a supporting section projected so that it may be contacted with each sealing unit from the internal side of the form block. In the method of pouring in light-shielding resin from the inlet of the form block, there are provided supporting sections L1, L2, R1 and R2 which has double faces respectively contacting with the back face and the side face while projecting toward the sealing units, in the corners facing the rear both ends of each sealing unit in the internal side of the form block.
