PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for processing an optical fiber end part, a tool that dispenses with an exclusive tool and its setting for each process, that requires less labor and time for the work, and that makes efficient work possible in a small space, and to provide a method for processing an optical fiber end part that uses this tool. SOLUTION: The tool is provided with a heating means 40 and a displacement imparting means 50 between a first and a second clamp means 10, 20 supported relatively movably on a substrate 30. By the use of this tool, the coating of an optical fiber 1 held on the first clamp means 10 is removed, by a pair of mutually facing blades held on the second clamping means, concurrently with the movement of the first clamping means 10. Remaining dust of the coating is removed by the heating means 40, and the core fiber of the optical fiber is cut, by generating local thermal stresses and local bends at prescribed positions of the core fiber by the heating means 40 and the displacement imparting means 50.
