PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program for identifying a call and preventing accidental recognition of the identification information of a correct call and the identification information of a call discarded in the way. SOLUTION: The call identification program executed in an apparatus connected with an exchange network through a modem includes a process for storing the identification information of a call, received from the modem along with a ringing code, together with the receiving time information, a process for reading out the receiving time information of the ringing code received previous time and stored upon receiving a ringing code indicative of reception of a ringing signal by the modem and calculating the difference of receiving time information between a ringing code received this time and a ringing code received previous time, and a process for determining whether the difference of receiving time information exceeds a predetermined time or not and identifying that the call of a ringing code received previous time is different from the call of a ringing code received this time if the difference of receiving time information exceeds the predetermined time.
