PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hinge device which has no constitutional part that is projected from a rotational member, is down-sized, and is incorporated, as a hinge for a cellular phone, etc., into a small space without difficulty. SOLUTION: The hinge device comprises: an open/close shaft; and a rotating shaft intersecting nearly orthogonally with each other. The open/close shaft joints freely openably the support member to a rotating member 40, into which the rotating shaft 52 is integrated. The hinge device further comprises: a drive member 60 which is attached to the end of the rotating shaft 52 and integrally rotates with the rotating shaft 52; a slide member 70 which is engaged with the drive member 60 to slide with rotation of the drive member 60; and an operation-control cam which controls the amount of slide of the slide member 70 in response to an open/close angle of the rotating member 40 with respect to the support member. The slide member 70 is formed of a sheet, and the whole-body is placed along the surface of the rotating member 40 so as to slide along the surface of the rotating member 40.
