The invention relates to a device for recirculating and cooling exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine, particularly a diesel engine (2) of a motor vehicle. The internal combustion engine (2) comprises an intake duct (6), an exhaust pipe (3), and an exhaust gas recirculation pipe (EGR pipe, 8). At least one exhaust gas heat exchanger (13), an EGR valve (12), and an oxidation catalyst (11) that is provided with an oxidation catalytic coating are disposed in the exhaust pipe or EGR pipe (3, 8). The oxidation catalyst (11) is positioned upstream from the EGR valve (12) in the direction of flow of the exhaust gas. |
