SHEET INDENTIFICATION MACHINE

A paper identification machine is provided to exactly determine the positions of a sensor unit and a facing part after maintenance by attaching one of the sensor unit and the facing part closely to the other one by a joining unit. A paper identification machine(10) comprises a base(14); a cover(13) opened or closed for the base; a conveying path formed between the facing surfaces of the base and the cover to transfer papers; a senor unit(40) having a sensor(45) disposed at one side of the base and the cover to detect identification information from the papers; a facing part(50) arranged on the other side to face the sensor unit; and a joining unit(60) for contacting a portion of one of the sensor unit and the facing part to a portion of the other one, by joining one of the sensor unit and the facing part in a direction approaching the other.
