The tarpaulin attachment has an attachment part, provided at the edge (1) of a tarpaulin (2) and having a mounting element (4). A connecting section (8) having connected sides is provided. Two sides (6, 7) are connected to bolting pins having a diameter relating to a shank section under a bolt head. The bolt head has a tapered head surface. One side has a pin opening having a bolting surface and a projection to allow the sides to be connected with one another.
