The collection mechanism (1) has, at a component (2) of the vehicle, an RFID transponder (3), which transmits position-relevant measuring data to three spatially separate receivers arranged at the vehicle (3 to 7). The receivers collect measuring data position-relevant for the component. The component may be a seat, a head restraint, a seat belt, a steering wheel, a window, a sun roof, a vehicle door, a luggage compartment cover, a convertible roof and or an applicable child seat. An independent claim is included for a measuring instrument.
