The invention relates to a method and machine for scheduling large format GF and small format PF mail pieces for one postman's round. The inventive machine comprises unstacking means (2), identification means for retrieve postal address of the mail pieces, means for dynamically stacking the GF and PF mail pieces (3, 61) in such a way that the totality of mail pieces is stored and delivered to an arrangement of successive sorting cases (4) and control means for assigning the serial number of a delivery point to each GF et PF mail piece to be delivered during the postman's round according to a reference file, allocating a serial number of each mail piece to the sorting case and for controlling the transfer of each mail piece from the storage means to the sorting case, to which the serial number thereof is already allocated.
