<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel hydrogen ion type strongly acidic cation exchange resin which is perfectly free from the leakage of an impurity cation. <P>SOLUTION: The hydrogen ion type strongly acidic cation exchange resin includes an impurity cation equal to or less than 0.1 equivalent% except for the hydrogen ion. A method for producing the hydrogen ion type strongly acidic cation exchange resin comprises the steps of: (1) preparing a cross-linked polymer; (2) sulfonating the cross-linked polymer with a sulfonation agent; and (3) hydrating it with a water having an electric resistivity at 25°C equal to or grater than 5 MΩcm, or with a dilute sulfuric acid and thereafter with the water having an electric resistivity at 25°C equal to or grater than 5 MΩcm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
