PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of converting an image recording signal of an image forming apparatus into an image recording signal of an image forming apparatus wherein the in-plane uniformity is corrected. SOLUTION: This image processing apparatus 10 comprises: an average color signal conversion section 24; a four-dimensional DLUT processing section 20; and a correction parameter correction section 22. The average color signal conversion section 24 converts an image recording signal with a CMY dot area rate received from an image input apparatus 12 into a Lab signal and outputs the result to the four-dimensional DLUT processing section 20, and the four-dimensional DLUT processing section 20 receives the Lab signal received from the average color signal conversion section 24 and an image recording positional signal x received from an image input section 12 and outputs a C'M'Y' dot area rate of the image recording signal having corrected in-plane uniformity in a main scanning direction in the image forming apparatus 16 to the image forming apparatus 16. The correction parameter correction section 22 corrects a conversion parameter of the average color signal conversion section 24 and the four-dimensional DLUT processing section 20 when the in-plane uniformity of the image forming apparatus 16 is changed due to a change over time of the image forming apparatus 16 or replacement of an image carrier such as a photoreceptor.
