<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rod-like steel material cutter using an abrasive cutting wheel, cutting a rod-like steel material in a flat cut end face right-angled to the longitudinal direction. <P>SOLUTION: This rod-like steel material cutter includes a displacement detecting device 58 for detecting the displacement in the direction of rotating axis in two or more circumferential parts, which are outer peripheral side parts of the abrasive cutting wheel 36 out of contact in the rotary driving state of the abrasive cutting wheel 36. A replacement determination means 68 determines replacement of the abrasive cutting wheel 36 based upon the displacement in the direction of rotating axis in the two or more circumferential parts which are outer peripheral side parts of the abrasive cutting wheel 36, that is detected by the displacement detecting device 58, whereby the abrasive cutting wheel 36 determined to be replaced can be replaced by a new normal abrasive cutting wheel, so that the rod-like steel material 38 can be cut in a flat cutting end face right-angled to the longitudinal direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
