PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily change the directions such as the longitudinal position and lateral position of image data to be transferred according to the installation condition of an imaging device. SOLUTION: The imaging device comprises: a reading means which reads out the image data from a storage medium which records an picked-up image as image data; an image data processing means which changes the position of the image data read out by means of the reading means; a status judging means which judges the installation condition of the device at the time of picking up the image to be recorded in the storage medium; an image data transferring means which transfers the image data read out from the storage medium by means of the reading means to an external device; and a conversion controlling means which controls the conversion by the image data processing means of the image data to be transferred to the external device by the image data transferring means, according to the installation condition of the device judged by the status judging means.
