The surgical clamp (10) has a first valve (20) which has a free end and a first fabric support defining a first fabric support section (22) and a first retaining section (28). The first retaining section has a surgical holder (14, 16) connected to the clamp. A second valve is connected to the first valve and having a further fabric support section (54, 56) which defines a further fabric support range. The first and entire fabric support range of the clamp defined by the further fabric support range is larger than the first and or further fabric support range. An independent claim is included for a surgical wound straddle device.
