<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording paper conveyance mechanism that increases flexibility of layout and enables designing of an image forming apparatus with a small footprint. <P>SOLUTION: The conveyance speed of a recording paper is controlled by a control means which can control a conveyance means, such that the recording paper is conveyed at a first conveyance speed; a second conveyance speed which is slower than the first conveyance speed; and a third conveyance speed which is faster than the first conveyance speed, thereby making a predetermined position of the recording paper pass a paper feed sensor at the second conveyance speed. Then, the recording paper is conveyed at the third conveyance speed temporarily, and further the recording paper is conveyed at the first conveyance speed. Consequently, the time from when the predetermined position of the recording paper is detected by the paper feed sensor until when arriving at a print is equalized with the time from when the predetermined position of the recording paper is detected by the paper feed sensor until when arriving at a target position, if it is considered that the predetermined position of the recording paper is conveyed by the first conveyance speed uniformly from the time detected by the paper feed sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
