PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a SAN (Storage Area Network) disaster recovery system which can construct a large-scale storage system straddling over SANs and can be automatically recovered without stopping the system when a disk failure occurs. SOLUTION: The SAN disaster recovery system has connection devices for providing a function that can access disk drives astride between the SANs, is provided with terminals for allowing users to select and determine a local disk and a remote disk constituting a disaster recovery system, has update log managing devices for synchronizing data of local disks and remote disks and disk monitoring devices for monitoring a disk drive failure, and is provided with disaster recovery configuration managing devices for controlling to switch an I/O request that becomes an I/O error to a remote disk drive when a local disk drive failure occurs and perform execution again without returning the error to a host application.
