PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce high-quality hologram image free of brightness unevenness and partial omission of image and so forth even though the characteristic and stability of an optical system and/or a hologram-recording material are at an ordinary level. SOLUTION: When a target image is reproduced, reference light beams 200 upon the reproduction of which angle is changed over a predetermined range including the incident angle of the reference-light beam 200 used for the data recording are applied to the hologram-recording material 50. Then, images of reproduction-signal light beams 300 obtained at that time are picked up consecutively by means of an image sensor 22 and peak values at every pixels of a plurality of images obtained by an image processing part 233 are collected and made into a single reproduced image. Thereby, it becomes possible to reproduce a high-quality hologram image free of brightness unevenness and partial omission of image and so forth even when using an ordinary level optical system and/or the hologram-recording material 50 which shows instability of a laser light source 1, shrinkage of the hologram-recording material 50 and variations in the optical system.
