PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of disclination and to increase quality of display. SOLUTION: Pixels are arranged in a matrix of 18 rows×24 columns corresponding to intersections of scanning lines in 18 rows and data lines in 24 columns. These pixels are divided into blocks each composed of two or more continuing pixels in the extending direction of the scanning lines, and writing polarity is defined to alternately invert in adjacent blocks to each other.
