PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device system in which IDs can be automatically imparted to display devices and other display devices can be kept operated without being affected by the stoppage of the individual display devices even if such display devices stop due to troubles or the like. SOLUTION: Each of the display devices 12 of the display device system is equipped with display elements 31 which are arranged with light emitting elements, such as LEDs, in a matrix and display various kinds of characters, videos, etc., a controller 35 which performs control of the display contents of the display element 31, an ID generation means 32, an ID storage section 33 which stores the ID to be the identification information unique to each display device 12, and a communication means 34 for connection to a LAN.
