PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent overturning of a yacht by wind. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a boom 3 oscillatably mounted on a mast 2, a sail 4 laid between the mast 2 and the boom 3, a rope member 5 connected to the boom 3, a connecting member 6 for connecting the rope member 5 to a part of the hull 1, and inclination detecting devices 11, 12, 13, 21, 22, 23, 24, 31, 32, 33 and 34 for detecting that the hull 1 is inclined at a prescribed angle. When the inclination detecting devices detect that the hull 1 is inclined at the prescribed angle, the connecting member 6 opens the connection of the rope member 5 to allow the escape of wind hitting on the sail 4.
