AN APPARATUS FOR EXPOSING CORNERS OF AN ARTIFICIAL STONE TO AN AGEING DEVICE

The invention relates to apparatuses, combinations and methods for exposing corners of artificial stones to an ageing device. The corner-exposing apparatus includes a platform for supporting the stone and exposing the same to the abrasive element of the ageing device. The apparatus also includes lifters operatively associated with the platform, and arranged in a pattern for alternatively lifting each of the corners of the stone to expose the same to the abrasive elements. The apparatus also includes displacement means producing a relative movement between the stone and the lifters. The lifters may be angle bars over which the stone are translated, or shafts on which cams or spiral lip are mounted to rotatively engage the stones. The corner-lifting apparatus may be used in combination with a disk-shaped ageing device. A method is provided for lifting the corners of the stones for ageing, by means of the above apparatus.
