A structure for preventing thermal damage of a heat exchanger is provided to use in common by assembling a thermal damage preventing cover with a horizontal assembling part and a vertical assembling part and an upper support with a U-nut and a second assembling member, to improve working efficiency by automatically assembling the thermal damage preventing cover with the upper support, and to prevent deformation of the thermal damage preventing cover by completely covering an upper part of the heat exchanger. A structure for preventing thermal damage of a heat exchanger(10) includes the heat exchanger having an upper support(15) protecting a tube(13) and a radiating fin(14) arranged in parallel in a couple of header tanks(11,12), a fan shroud(20) combined with the heat exchanger, and a thermal damage preventing cover(30) fixing the heat exchanger and the fan shroud and covering the upper support. The thermal damage preventing cover includes a first assembling part(31) fixed to a horizontal assembling part(21) of the fan shroud by a first assembling member(40), and a second assembling part(32) fixed to a vertical assembling part(22) and the upper support by a second assembling member(42). The thermal damage preventing cover is automatically combined by equalizing assembling direction of the first assembling part to the assembling direction of the first assembling member.
