<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow light diffusion and prevent deflection of a condensing sheet in a backlight device having no light transmissive diffusion plate and an opening 1a of a casing covered with the condensing sheet alone. <P>SOLUTION: The condensing sheet 9 is placed to directly cover the opening 1a of the casing 1 of the backlight device 6.
