<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier system which prevents a communication load between respective managing devices from increasing in searching a carrier route without newly providing an exclusive managing device for searching a carrier route and to provide a method for searching a carrier route in the carrier system in which a plurality of managing devices divide a carrier route into a plurality of areas for management. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The plurality of managing devices Tn (n is natural number) for dividing the carrier route into a plurality of areas An (n is natural number) and respectively managing the areas are provided with a route information DB1 for storing information on the carrier route of each area, a controlling part 2 for controlling each part to search a carrier route in response to a carrier request, and a communication part 3 for accessing other managing devices through a network 10 to transmit and receive data. The controlling part 2 accesses other managing devices through the network 10 to acquire information on the carrier route of their management area, and refers to the route information DB1 to search a carrier route in response to a carrier request on the basis of the information on the carrier route of each area if the carrier request is received from a requesting terminal 20.
