A device and a method for saving power of a touch screen are provided to improve efficiency of power management by minimizing power consumption, as a sampling rate of the touch screen is flexibly controlled in a PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) according to a condition. A battery remainder monitoring part(250) monitors remainder of a battery. A sampling rate adjuster(260) automatically controls the sampling rate of a sampler(220) according to the monitoring result received from the battery remainder monitoring part. A memory(270) stores relationship between a threshold of the battery remainder and the sampling rate of the sampler. The device supports the first mode differently setting the sampling rate according to each battery remainder and the second mode setting the sampling rate to one value irrespective of the battery remainder. |
