The method involves directing a gas stream into interior of a container e.g. bottle, through a mouth of the container, where the gas stream runs diagonal to the center axis of the container and/or the mouth of the container. The stream is positioned under a pointed angle of 5 to 35 against the center axis of the mouth of the container, where the tangential deviation is constant during the rinsing procedure. An independent claim is also included for a device for rinsing a container.
