<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure being an open cell structure and capable of reconciling low pressure loss and high purification capacity, and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The honeycomb structure 1 is equipped with a large number of bulkheads 2 for respectively demarcating a large number of cells 3 extending in its axial direction and at least a part of the bulkheads 2 shows a shape curved in a protruded state toward the outside from the center 4 of the cross section of the honeycomb structure 1 or a shape curved in a protruded state toward the center 4 of the cross section thereof from the outside in the cross section vertical to the axial direction of the honeycomb structure 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
