<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a package for an optical fiber component, which can suppress variation of insertion loss by reducing, to an extremely small quantity, the moisture that reaches an optical fiber component body from an outside under the environment of high temperature and high humidity. <P>SOLUTION: An optical branching part 3 protected by a substrate case 4 is housed in a first hollow member 9 made of fused quartz and further housed in a second hollow member 10 made of stainless steel. To each opening part of the hollow members 9, 10, the opening part covers 13-16 having holes 13a-16a through which optical fibers 2a-2d penetrate are fitted. A gap between each of the opening part covers 13-16 and the inner wall face of each of the opening parts is≤0.2 [mm], and a gap between each of holes 13a-16a and the optical fiber 2a-2d is also≤0.2 [mm]. These gaps are filled with, as a sealant, epoxy adhesives 5a, 5b and each of the opening part covers 13-16 is fixed to each of the opening parts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
