PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging system excellent in portability and operability, in the imaging system including an imaging apparatus having a secondary battery and a charging device having a fuel battery used to charge the secondary battery of the imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: In the imaging system, the charging device and the imaging apparatus are electrically connected by mounting the charging device onto the lens mounting part of the imaging apparatus. Based upon the detection result of the detecting means for detecting the voltage of the secondary battery, the imaging apparatus causes the charging device to generate power. The operation of the charging device is controlled so that a current generated is supplied to the imaging apparatus.
