摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to control freely the position of a filament and the number of filaments generated on a beam section and also to generate filaments in predetermined arbitrary positions of the beam section, when making an ultrashort pulse laser beam propagate in the atmosphere, high-density gas, or a solid medium. SOLUTION: A reflective mirror having a local convex part or a local concave part in the reflective surface is arranged on the light path of the ultrashort pulse laser beam so that, when reflecting the ultrashort pulse laser beam, a spatial modulation may be given to the wave surface of the beam according to the local convex part or the local concave part on the surface of the mirror, and a filament may be formed by making this into a starting point (seed) in a process of beam propagation. Since this filament is generated stably by the existence of the local convex part or the local concave part of the surface of the reflective mirror, the filament is formed uniquely and continuously in arbitrary positions of the beam section by forming the local convex part or the local concave part in arbitrary positions.
