PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a geographical feature data processing method with which computer-processible horizontal cross-sectional shapes of slopes are classified while maintaining analysis accuracy at an expert level which has been realized by manual works. SOLUTION: An intersection is calculated by drawing the shortest distance line from a certain data point of a certain piece of contour line data to contour data in which an altitude is lower or higher by one rank, a binormal between a vectorγusing the certain data point as a starting point and a data point smaller than that by one as an end point and vectorsβ,β' using the certain data point as the starting point and the intersection as the end point and a binormal between the vectorsβ,β' and a vectorαusing the certain data point as the starting point and a data point larger than that by one as the end point are calculated, when both binormals between the vectors are positive or negative, it is judged that the intersection is positioned at right side and left side of the contour line data and to which of the left and the right of the contour line data a reference point projects is judged by a vector using a data point with point number smaller than that of the reference point by one as the starting point and the reference point as the end point and the vectorγ.
