PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber containing metal oxide fine particles having photocatalytic activities, and capable of removing a volatile organic compound; and to provide a volatile organic compound-removing fiber structure having the volatile organic compound-removing fiber at least a part. SOLUTION: The volatile organic compound-removing fiber comprises the metal oxide fine particles having the photocatalytic activities, and has≥80% rate of rejection of the volatile organic compound. Preferably, the metal oxide fine particle is titanium oxide, and has 10-100 nm particle diameter. The strand is a multilayered structural fiber having an alternately arranged porous layer and dense layer, and the metal oxide fine particles are contained in the dense layer.
