PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp protective cover which can be easily removed from a discharge lamp as a detachment member of the cover is located in an internal space of a reflector when the lamp is mounted inside the reflector of a lamp house, is made of polyurethane-based resin, can be reused after use in various ways including thermal recycling, material recycling and chemical recycling, and has little influence to environments. SOLUTION: The lamp protective cover is for protecting the discharge lamp 1 having a base 13 provided at the end of a sealed part 12 formed at both ends of an arc tube 11. The detachment member 23 is provided on each of the front and the rear of the lamp protective cover 2. The cover 2 is wound by one or more turns around the surface of the discharge lamp 1 except the base 13. The respective detachment members 23 overlappingly fix to cover the lamp 1.
