PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method of a horizontally laying roof superior in workability capable of laying upward up to an upstream terminal end without cutting the rear end side of a horizontally laying roof material. SOLUTION: When upwardly laying the horizontally laying roof material 6 fixed to a roof backing 5 via a suspender to the upstream side from the eaves edge, a general suspender A short in the longitudinal length of a locking plate part 10b engaging with a folding-back plate part 6c on the front end of the horizontally laying roof material and an adjusting suspender B longer in the longitudinal length of the locking plate part 10b than the general suspender A, are used in common as the suspender, and the number of adjusting suspenders B to be used is set on the basis of allocation of the horizontally laying roof material 6 up to the upstream tail end part from the eaves edge, and the roof material is laid upward up to the upstream terminal end without cutting the rear end side of the horizontally laying roof material 6 by changing a superposing margin in the longitudinal direction of the horizontally laying roof material 6.
