PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire capable of enhancing the steering stability while maintaining the crack growth resistance of a side wall and the ride quality performance. SOLUTION: The tire has at least two layers of side wall rubber including an inner rubber layer and an outer rubber layer. The inner rubber layer contains a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composition in which at least an olefin-based compound, a dienic rubber and a thermoplastic polymer are blended. At the largest width position of the tire while the tire is fitted to a rim and the specified internal pressure is applied thereto, the ratio E*a/E*b of the complex modulus of elasticity E*a in the tire circumferential direction of the inner rubber layer to the complex modulus of elasticity E*b in the radial direction is≥1.5, and the thickness of the inner rubber layer to the total thickness of the side wall rubber occupies 10-80%.
