FRAME LASER DIODE, METHOD FOR MOUNTING LASER DIODE CHIP, AND OPTICAL PICKUP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To incline the long axis direction of an elliptical spot of the collected laser light to the advancing direction of the traffic of an optical disk without arranging a frame laser diode obliquely to the main face of an optical base.

SOLUTION: The frame laser diode (10A) is provided with a frame (11A) having the main face (11a) and a laser diode chip (12) mounted on the frame. The laser diode chip (12) is arranged obliquely to the main face (11a) of the frame. The frame (11A) has a projection (15) with an inclined face (15a) oblique to the main face (11a). The laser diode chip (12) is mounted on the inclined face (15a) of the projection.
