<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid polyelectrolyte fuel cell in which the reaction gas flows in the gas passage channel of a unit cell without leaking and operation with high gas utilization rate is realized, and which can be assembled easily. <P>SOLUTION: In the solid polyelectrolyte fuel cell in which a unit cell is constructed by interposing a membrane electrode assembly by a separator, a projection channel 8a is provided at the separator 10 on a fuel electrode side along the surface on the diffusion layer side of a packing channel 8 which is arranged surrounding a fuel gas passage channel 7 arranged opposed to the diffusion layer of the membrane electrode assembly, a fuel gas entrance manifold 1, and a fuel gas exit manifold 2. By pressing in the packing by compression, the gas between the diffusion layer and the packing channel 8 is closed and circulation of gas is shut off. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
